Gardening Assistant - Kirami Residential Aged Care, Hervey Bay

Job No: V1802
Location: Hervey Bay

At Anglicare Southern Queensland, we respect individuality at all our Residential facilities, and encourage independence in all our residents, while also providing qualified and caring staff to deliver safe and professional support that fosters a loving community.

Situated in pristine Hervey Bay with a unique bushland setting that supports a large native bird habitat, Kirami is a fully-accredited aged care facility strengthened by a team of value-driven professionals who sincerely care about what they do and what they bring to our organisation. The Aboriginal word Kirami, meaning ‘home’ or ‘place of care’, represents the commitment of our staff in providing the highest standards of aged care service. To keep the facility looking its best, we require the support of a volunteer Gardening Assistant.

  • Ability to work under the direction of staff, performing manual work and gardening
  • Understanding of equipment and tools, including correct use and storage
  • The motivation to make a difference in other people’s lives
  • A patient, friendly and mature attitude and a respect for confidentiality and privacy
  • Flexibility, commitment and ability to work both independently and maintain professional boundaries
  • Respect, care and courtesy towards others and yourself - including workplace health and safety procedures

Other requirements include:

  • Availability – at least one shift (4 hours) per week during business hours
  • Consistency and reliability – willing to commit to an ongoing basis for at least 6 months
